We both love peppermint so I was excited to make a Frosted Peppermint Brownies as my creation. Her creation this weekend, well let's just say it needs a couple more rounds before it is ready to share with the world. Some of my favorites have been character inspired desserts and a peppermint cheesecake pudding bar, Peppermint Chip Milkshake, Candy Cane Marshmallows, B's creativity has created some surprisingly good recipes, especially for a 5 year old. Frost the brownies and then sprinkle a generous layer of BRACHS Peppermint Crushed Candy Canes on top of the frosting layer. I love when B asks "How much time do we have let?" and then when our recipe is complete "times up, hands up." So, my compromise is that we both get to create a recipe and we pretend we are on the show. With mixing speed on low, gradually add the powdered sugar, milk or cream, vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and salt. When we are debating over the next step it takes the fun out of it. We have had a couple of recipes where our visions did not align. As a blogger and perfectionist it has taken me so time to realize that I need to step back and let my daughter's creativity flow. Next add in eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition to incorporate. In a medium sized bowl, add melted butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar and whisk together. ![]() ![]() Melt butter in a medium sauce pan over medium high heat, whisk in cocoa powder until combined set aside. The ultimate treat for the holidays, these peppermint candy cane brownies are made with layers of fudgy brownie, creamy mint frosting, chocolate ganache, and crushed peppermint. For the Brownies: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare 8x8 sized baking pan with parchment paper and non-stick spray. My favorite part of these shows is that it inspires both of us to take traditional recipes and put our own spin on them. Coat a 9x13 baking pan with cooking spray set aside. Step 1: In a large microwave safe bowl, melt the butter and chopped chocolate. It has quickly become our favorite show to watch, on repeat of course. We recently started watching cooking show reruns. My daughter and I love to cook and bake together. These Frosted Peppermint Brownies are the perfect treat to make for this holiday season.
